have driven me in creating ceramic art since the very beginning.
The wood-fired chawans on display this time all use traditional glaze as a basis, fired in a
wood-fired kiln with a modern design to produce an appearance specific to modern wood-firing.
As I load wood into the kiln, I'm watching the changes to the fire inside the kiln, which
allows the falling ash to meld its minerals with the colored glazes. In these flames is where I
look for the ideal of ceramic art, painting on strokes of nature with the flames as my brush, the
colors of heaven and earth.
「一心老實作陶」與「溫古知其新」是我對於陶藝創作的初心。
此次展出的柴燒茶碗皆以傳統釉為基礎,並且運用現代柴窯的結構呈現出當代柴燒特有的風
貌。投柴的過程中,我觀看窯火的變化,使柴燒中的落灰參透土裡的礦物與釉彩共融,並在
熾火裏找到自己所要追求的陶藝形貌,以火為彩筆淬鍊出自然的形跡,如天地之韻彩。
