Alvin Ng

I worked with gas and wood-fired pottery, and fired nearly every month in the reduction kiln, which allowed
me to constantly try and make breakthroughs in the performance of "local clay" and "local ash".
I created my own set of "pinch and push method"; i pinched out various shapes with clay, and left natural
hand patterns and clay texture. The shape of my works is basic and simple, with the glaze that I ground
and mixed myself, the colour and luster highlight is my personal style.
In addition to showing various natural textures in my works, the self-mixed ash glaze creates more intriguing
colours in the kiln; restrained and quaint natural mineral glaze colours.
You can feel the raw and fullness in my works, a sense of generosity like the earth, just like my honest
personality and simple life.
Through the three signature dots of a_pot – see, feel and taste – my teaware aspires to delight the eye, relax
the mind and quench the thirst of individuals. Sense of generosity like the earth, reflecting his personality

a_pot 的靈感來源
我用瓦斯窯和柴窯燒陶，且幾乎每個月做還原燒，讓我能夠用在地的土與灰持續做不同的嘗試與突破。
我發明了自己的一套「手捏手推法」，用手捏成各種不同的形狀並留下自然的手印與質感。作品的外型
原始、簡單，並使用自行研磨、配方的釉藥，顏色與光澤都是屬於我自己的風格。
除了在作品中展現各種天然質地，我自己混合的灰釉在窯中會產出更多奇妙的顏色；一些奇特且收斂的
自然礦物釉色澤。
我的作品感覺原始、飽滿，像大地一般的寬厚，就跟我的誠實個性與簡單的生活一樣。
透過a_pot 代表性的三個點：視覺、感覺、味覺，期望我的茶器可以讓人眼睛愉悅、心情放鬆、口唇止渴。
