Hashimoto Yoshiko grew up in the richly historical city of Kyoto. She had an interest in drawing at an early age. After getting married, she began working with ceramics, mostly creating blue and white porcelain. She did not constrain herself to the design of traditional patterns. Rather, she lets herself wander in her imagination to produce unconventional fantasies. "There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people's eyes." This is the unique experience offered by art. The seemingly flat and simple patterns come vividly into view, combining art and utility in one single object and inviting rich and realistic imagination.
